Alcudia is one of the places in Majorca with the most outstanding history, geography and social dynamics. It is a town where history is ever present: the Roman city of Pol·lèntia, its two walled enclosures - one mediaeval and the other Renaissance - amongst many other features make Alcudia especially attractive. Alcudia was founded as a small town by King Jaume II of Majorca in 1325. The Emperor Carlos I bestowed it with the title of Ciudad Fidelísima (Most Loyal City). |
