n 1993, Minorca was declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO. This distinction is in recognition of the harmony that the Minorcans, throughout the ages, have lived with their natural surroundings.
The Eden Binibeca is situated on the south coast of the island, in the municipality of Sant Lluis, a former French settlement. The creation of this town of white houses and of a linear layout occurred during the Seven Years' War (1756-1763). |
